Play as a team
Shirlaws coaches are committed to working as a team. From sharing knowledge and experience to working together (sometimes across state borders) we aim to deliver the best outcomes for our clients. We strive to be unselfish, “pass the ball” when specialised skills are required, and trust in the diverse abilities within the business.
Play as a team in action: Shirlaws coaches work closely together on different projects including fun projects. In all our work, we are looking for ways to give back to our community.
Have fun
At Shirlaws we strive to create a culture that is fun, that cares and that will embrace you (often quite literally) no matter your experience or what industry you come from. Our value of “have fun” includes our aim to commit $1 million of time and money to helping the wider community. This incorporates “love projects” and raising money for charities.
Have fun in action: Shirlaws has 12 teams entered into the BRWs 2011 Triathlon, comprised of coaches, staff and clients of a varying physical ability. We want to maintain a welcoming and caring culture by actively promoting fun amongst our colleagues and clients.
It starts with me
The context of this value resides in the paradigm– ‘I create the whole of my own reality’, and therefore, I am responsible for it. We strive to be players not spectators and be the opportunity. In order to do so, we must have awareness, take full responsibility for our choices, and live this through our actions.
It starts with me in action: Shirlaws coaches take full responsibility with clients to create a safe environment to promote business development. On a personal level, Shirlaws coaches are committed to our own personal development, with each coach completing 12 days a year of training focused on self development.
Love the client
Loving the client means our colleagues and clients share equal status. We want all of our clients to feel supported, challenged and loved, and particularly feel safe when ‘tough love’ is delivered.
Love the client in action: For a client to feel loved, Shirlaws coaches are expected to make sure clients are always heard, they are told what they need to hear not what they want to hear and the client relationship continues past invoicing.
Build value
Building value means creating more brand awareness, building up I.P offering and creating passive income streams, this will allow for the business to hold true valuation.
Building value in action: Shirlaws coaches focus on understanding the commercial drivers that build value. We aim to pinpoint the need to have value in the business (be it retirement, succession or selling the business) in order to work together to achieve that goal. Ultimately, building value is about building freedom and choice, both for our clients and for our own business.
We live these values both internally and in how we work with our clients. For more information on the meaningful role Values and Culture can play in your organisation, you can contact Shirlaws or introduce yourself to one of our coaches.
