Dave Carney

David is a business coach, who understands the power of alignment, from an individual through to a large group in both their professional and personal development. David loves supporting his clients through the various stages of the business and assisting them to achieve their goals and business vision.

Immediately prior to joining Shirlaws, David was CEO for Aspect Partners, a financial planning firm, which he founded in 1999. David was operationally responsible for providing the vision, leadership and direction to the group. David worked in the financial services industry for 18 years, the last 10 years focusing on small business owners. David commenced his career with State Bank of NSW in Canberra before moving to Sydney in the mid 90’s to work with Westpac and later NRMA. .

David's clients have described his coaching style as ‘relaxed', ‘perceptive’ and ‘extremely stimulating’. He supports people and organisations to be the best they can be. David’s expertise is in helping his clients get the clarity needed to ensure they have a clear direction, both within their business and personally, to allow them to make the best decisions for themselves and their business.

He is able to empathize with his clients because he understands first-hand the pressures and joys of starting, owning and selling a business.

Whilst he works with a wide range of businesses, David has developed a specialty in working with mid-tier professional and financial service firms. David also facilitates strategic retreats, workshops and is highly regarded as a conference speaker and presenter.

Professionally he is a Certified Financial Planner and has a Diploma of Financial Planning.

David lives in Sydney with his wife and two children. He loves travelling and has a passion -- which he shares with his wife -- in competing in triathlons.
